I have seen some things (and ridden on them) that would blow you away out there. Looking for like minded individuals to go with me....waverunner holds 3-gassed up & ready to go...

capthill wrote:The way this trip came together sums up tanker surfing pretty well. I had my boat in Meeks Marine for about two weeks. I got it back Wednesday afternoon. About 6:00pm I checked the schedule for Thursday and there were already 5 big tankers set up for Thursday morning. This is actually really rare as they only have to order a pilot 4 hours ahead of time. I checked weatherunderground and the winds looked perfect. I started making calls about 6:30 and put together a crew of bay veterans all with jobs that allow last minute plans like this. Some were called and could not make it. Bummer. We started at 7:00am Thursday and chased ships all day non stop except for a mid day gas run. Burned at least $300 in gas. We knew right where to be for each ship and only got burned by under performers. Far and away best overall day I have ever seen. If the conditions were the same today, you would only have two good sized ships. Definitely scored with Brian bringing the quad. That board was close to perfect. 19 minute wave with Baker could have been over 20 if we caught it at its beginning. Figure we surfed a good weeks worth of wave time on a Mex trip. Very sore today. Gotta thank Baker for the incredible photo job with an assist from Tankerlove.
